Vienna Film Awards judges will go through the submissions and every month there will be a selection of nominees. These selected nominees will be invited to attend the awards ceremony in Vienna.

Awards are given to the categories below:

• Best Feature Documentary
• Best Short Documentary
• Best Director
• Best Student Film
• Best Student Documentary
• Best Student Director
• Best Music Video
• Best Foreign Film
• Best LGBTQ+
• Best Animation
• Best Experimental

• February 10, 2022 – Valentines Deadline
• March 10, 2022 – Spring Deadline
• April 14, 2022 – Easter Deadline
• May 16, 2022 – May Deadline
• June 16, 2022 – June Deadline
• July 14, 2022 – Extended Deadline
• August 4, 2022 – Final Deadline

Please read all the rules and requirements before submitting your project:

To submit a film, you must have created the project yourself, own the rights or have permission from the owner of the content to submit the film to us.

1. All films must either be in English or have English subtitles.
2. All films must be produced after 2019.
3. We retain no responsibility for copyright claims.
4. You allow us to promote your film and create promotional materials with your movie poster.
5. Short films must not be longer than 40 minutes (including credits). Features are above 40 minutes
6. By submitting you agree to our terms and conditions and give us permission to use your email address for marketing purposes.
